The Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a game changing device.  To launch it here in New Zealand we needed to make a big noise and capture the imagination of media and the kiwi public.

So, we used the Note8 to take photos of some of New Zealand’s biggest personalities, we projected those photos onto 33-metre high silos and had one of NZ’s most prominent artists playfully draw over them live, using the Note8 device. Then we used social media to share the event with the whole country.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has one of the best smart phone cameras on the market, allowing you to take clear and steady photos in low light. It also has the S Pen so you can unleash your creativity and communicate in a whole new way. Copper’s brief was to hero these two functionalities and demonstrate the Note8 allows you to do bigger things.

We staged an exclusive launch event at Auckland’s much-loved Silos with New Zealand’s biggest names and influencers. Artist and Samsung brand ambassador, Andrew J. Steel, greeted guests on arrival and took their photos using the Galaxy Note8. Guests’ portraits were then projected one by one onto the silos where Andrew illustrated over them live.

The visual spectacle unfolded and provided our VIPs with their personal Instagram moment and their images were shared widely with their followers.

Fans at home had front row seats as the event played out in real time through Facebook Live and Instagram. For those physically at the event, the partying continued well into the night, with each of the six historic silos transformed into an interactive experience where guests could get hands on with the Note8 and test drive its key features.
